Usage of data mining in predicting Diabetes mellitus: A survey

Abstract

The evolution of biotechnology and health medicine has led to a rise in data volume from electronic devices and lab results. Data results are used in data mining to convert this information into knowledge. Data mining can help in make the correct decisions, better diagnosis and excellent treatment, which makes the doctor quickly, defines the problem and best prescribe the treatments. This paper focuses on recent advances in machine learning from 2007 to 2020 that have a significant impact on diabetes detection and diagnosis. Also, it concentrates on the overall survey related to data mining techniques for predicting diabetes and provides a classifying of the current proposals based on the techniques used. In addition, it presents the advantages and disadvantages of those techniques.
